Abstract

This study consisted of a form of quasi eksperien treated experimental class problem-based learning and classroom learning control treated normal. Data were analyzed by T test and ANOVA two way. The results showed that that (1) the mathematical problem solving ability of students who received problem-based learning (PBM) is better than the students who received the usual learning. This is evident from the results of the analysis of statistical tests to Th = 10.029 bigger Tt is 2.75. (2) communication skills students acquire mathematical problem-based learning (PBM) is better than the students who received the usual learning. This is evident from the results of the analysis of statistical tests to Th = 11.716 bigger Tt is 2.75. (3) There is no interaction between the learning model and the ability of students to the early mathematics problem solving ability of students. (4) There is no interaction between the learning model and the ability of students to the initial math student mathematical communication (5) The increase in mathematical problem solving ability of students were given a problem-based learning with an average N-Gain of 0.7 is high. (6) Increased communication skills of students by mathematical problem-based learning with an average N-Gain of 0.8 is high. (7) The process of settlement of the answers of students who pembelajaranya by using problem-based learning is better than the usual learning.
